Abstract
Whitehead’s conception of space and time discloses a substantivalistic 4D-spacetime of observable events. His mass concept makes room for Verlinde’s approach of gravity as elastic response of mass created out of the de Sitter Space. By combining Whitehead’s concept of observability with Hawking’s “Top Down” approach we formulate the Big Bang singularity as creating information out of disappearing Black Holes. We conclude that a Big Bounce-like model is more converging to Whitehead’s concept of Nature, and that the creation and destruction of information qubits resemble a “Giant Carnot Engine¨, a metaphor for the eternal cycle of the Universe.
Keywords: Whitehead, substantivism, spacetime, gravitation, hysteresis and Big Bounce
